About Africa Is Great
Africa Is Great (AIG) is a Ghana-based healthcare supply chain and infrastructure company transforming how hospitals, clinics, and patients access essential medical products.
Founded by physicians and healthcare operators, AIG merges deep clinical understanding with operational precision — ensuring that quality supplies arrive where they're needed, when they're needed.
Our Mission
To deliver high-quality medical supplies and build resilient, sustainable health systems in Ghana and across Africa.
Our Vision
A continent where access to essential care is standard, not a struggle.
Our Values
Our Story
Born from a Vision to Make Healthcare Accessible
2019 – The Beginning
Africa Is Great began with a simple mission: prevent avoidable suffering. We introduced affordable TED stockings, helping pregnant women and at-risk patients prevent DVTs and life-threatening pulmonary embolisms.
2020 – Scaling Access
We expanded into dialysis consumables — making dialyzers and bloodlines more affordable and easing the financial burden on patients and hospitals.
2021 – The Impact Model
We launched our cross-subsidy model: part of every sale funds free dialysis sessions for patients with acute kidney injury who need one or two lifesaving treatments. This model has saved countless lives and continues to grow.
2023 – Partnerships for Scale
We built partnerships with major hospitals and NGOs, reaching thousands of patients and expanding access across multiple regions.
2024 – Transforming Renal Care Across Africa
Our next chapter is focused on: Expanding across Africa – taking our cross-subsidy model to new countries to make renal replacement therapy accessible to thousands more patients. Peritoneal dialysis adoption – introducing a patient-friendly, cost-effective alternative to hemodialysis. Kidney transplant readiness – building data infrastructure, training programs, and patient networks to enable affordable, accessible kidney transplantation across the continent.
